Oh, forgot to add that I just finished reading The Gargoyle last night and I loved it too. Definitely one of those books that will stay with me for a long time.

Poor Jennifer. Was it crappy comment week for you or what? I know it's easier said than done, but really, just ignore them. You're way too good to waste time worrying about their rude and rather ignorant behavior.

'reading a good book (along with some Ben & Jerry’s Cookie Dough ice cream) is the perfect cure for anything that ails me'...I couldnt agree more :)

and about that nasty comment...just ignore it, its ridiculous anyway.

I've gotten some bizzarre and rude comments at times too. It doesnt happen often, but if the comment is really nasty, I just delete it.

It's your blog after all and you have every right to voice your thoughts. It seems to me that the person who leaves the rude comment is the one who is prowling around. You should ignore the comment.

Rebecca, it feels to me like readerville, now The Book Lady for so long that it doesn't seem possible that you could be that same person! I am such an idiot! Thank God I didn't complete my thought by saying we could meet up at B&N. ;)

Re: your comment on my blog--you totally know I live in Richmond! Remember how we met because I discovered your blog, knew you lived in VA, and wanted to see if you were close to Richmond for a possible event at my store :) I'd love to get a snack or drink sometime.

Since you've decided to ignore it, I'm squashing my impulse to respond to her comment. She's being ridiculous - what is a book blog if not a place to air your opinions?

The Family Feud stuff is just crazy! I am so glad I turned down a chance at that one.

I think you are all right about just leaving it alone. I would never delete a comment like that unless it used truly foul language. Why give them that kind of satisfaction. Another funny thing was the comment before that. It indicated that not a one of us are "who's who" or Kirkus review. That prompted me to Google Kirkus' review of The Gargoyle. It just happened to be positive, so I posted that in my reply. Ah, the blogging life.

One of the good things about not getting much traffic when you're first starting out is that you don't get comments like that when you're building your confidence. I would never leave blogging because of something someone I don't even know said about me. There are way too many terrific people out there. :) Maybe some book bloggers didn't like this chick's book and she's looking to start a fight.

BTW, I'm not alone getting involved with that family feud. Rantsandreads left a comment to my update and said that she had the same type of thing happen to her. Those people are absolutely nuts!
