Have You Checked Out FieldReport?

There is an interesting new site up that is for writers, readers, and reviewers.  It’s called FieldReport and you should definitely check it out.

This is a place for writers who like to share the experiences that have shaped their lives.  The articles that I have read all been different and interesting.  There are 20 categories a writer can post work for a contest, with each awarding a $1,000 monthly prize.  Not too shabby!  There is also a yearly $250,000 grand prize.

For readers, there will soon be the opportunity to take articles you select and publish them into your own book.  Since you write the introduction, it might make a wonderful gift for someone.  Of course, as a writer you could create your own compilation, too.  Everytime an article gets published in a FRBook, the writer gets a 15% commission.

What’s really cool about this site (in addition to the prizes, of course) is that the reviews of each piece are what make or break it.  Unlike some other book awards, the opinions of the readers are essential to an article’s success.

I was so inspired by FieldReport that I signed up there and, after reviewing my first 5 articles, I plan on entering my own true life story into this month’s contest.  I’ll let you know when it’s posted.
