Books just keep seeming to pile up for me here at Literate Housewife. This is not a bad thing, per se, but I continue to feel overwhelmed and that’s taking the enjoyment out of reading for me. So, this month I have 8 books that were unsolicited or I just cannot get around to reading.
As usual, the first person to leave a comment requesting a title “wins” it. Please only request one book only. You can list a second book you’d like if it is not requested by Tuesday. I’ll be happy to ship anywhere so long as it doesn’t cost me more than $10 to $12 to ship it. Given the craziness of the world financial system now, it would be interesting to see how it could get even crazier which seems to be part of the plot of “Nineteenth Street, NW”. the female character, “an opressed minority” seems interesting too since I’ve been reading various fiction and non-fiction books lately on this subject such as “Nine Parts of Desire” and “A Thousand Splendid Suns”. And of course if I get to review this, would link to you!

this is such a great idea…I need to do this with some of my ARC’S so that I can get things back under control!!!!
I really would like to have more autonomy in what I’m reading again. I would like to move from frantic reading to get everything finished and reviewed in an acceptable period of time toward a more even mix of ARC and personal TBRs. So far, this has worked really well for me.
well, I’m weak–I’d love to take The Book of Vice off your hands if my eyes aren’t playing tricks on me–has no one asked for it? (though, really, my ARC pile is probably as bad as yours…)

Well, I was split between Jesus Freaks and The Last Days of Krypton, but I’m going to go with the Superman book, because when I saw this one recently at a bookstore where I work I was intrigued. I wasn’t intrigued enough to buy it, but get it for free? Sure.
