Weekend of Fun and Frolick with Friends

Last week Wednesday, my best friend Trista drove down for a visit with her two children, Abby and Ethan.  Abby and Ethan fall right in the middle of Emma and Allison, so we had four children between 4 and 6 on our hands.  Despite some nerve-wracking whining, fighting, and tattling, we had a great time catching up with each other.  Here are some pictures from our weekend.

Trista couldn’t believe how mature Emma has become since we’ve last gotten together.  I see and love her everyday, so it’s hard sometimes to realize that as a parent. This picture really brings that point home.

Here is Allison mugging for the camera while we were getting ready to go to the Massanutten Water Park Friday evening.  That girl is a ham and I’m pretty sure she always will be.  Pay no attention to that superhero she’s nearly crushing.  Girls rule anyway. LOL!

When we first had all four kids together on a vacation, Allison was about 9 months old.  We took a picture of all four kids on the bed at the motel.  Trista was smart to grab a new picture 4 years later.  Wow!  They have really grown.  BTW, Ethan held up really well for being the only boy with a bunch of women.

Last weekend was all about family and friends, but I’ll get more bookish blogging in tonight.  I have to select and announce the winner of Foreign Tongue, update everyone on my (lack of) progress on ProBlogger’s 31 Day Blog Improvement project, and write my review of The Tory Widow by Christine Blevins.

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend.

I love that group pic. Kids grow up so fast. It sounds like such a cliche but it’s so true.

I think it is special that you are getting the kids together, so that they can grow up knowing each other! That is alot of energy in one place…God love ya! My family has reunions every couple of years, and there are three girls and a boy (my son). No doubt, he holds his own too!
