I love this book, but it definitely does require concentration. That’s actually why I’ve been putting off reading Byatt’s new one even though I’ve had it for a month and am dying to read it. If I pick the wrong moment, the reading experience just won’t be the same.

I actually enjoyed the movie more than the book. A rare occurence! I tried reading this while on jury duty. I agree. . . it took far more concentration than I really wanted to give it.

I wanted to like it, I really, really did. I finally gave up after 100 pages, and I rarely don’t make myself finish a book. LIke I heard someone else say, “I’ve already wasted my money, I don’t need to waste my time too.”
