As I mentioned earlier when I posted my review of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, I was one of the 150 lucky bloggers given the opportunity by Alfred A. Knopf to participate in their Tattoo-You contest in honor of the publication of The Girl Who Played with Fire and Stieg Larsson, the series’ author. Thank you, AA Knopf! I’m so excited to be taking part!
Now for the Contest…
There will be 10 winners of this contest!
The Grand Prize winner will receive a hardcover copy of The Girl Who Played with Fire and a The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo temporary tattoo:

The nine other winners will receive a The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo temporary tattoo! It may not be a copy of the book, but they are darn cool if you ask me! Even as I write about this contest I really want to go down to 9 total winners so that I can have one for myself… I must be strong!
So, what do you need to do to enter?
1) For one entry in the contest, leave a comment here and let me know two things:
- Do you have a tatto? If so, any details you care to share? Having one isn’t a pre-requisite. I’m just curious that way.
- Have you read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo? Reading it isn’t a pre-requisite. I’m just curious that way.
Please be sure to answer the questions so that I can count your entry!
For the record: Heck Yah! I’ve read The Girl with the Dragon! and no, sorry, I don’t have any tattoos at this time. I’ve been tempted to get the Josua Tree from U2′s The Joshua Tree album tattooed somewhere, but…
2) You can earn one additional entry for each person who leaves a comment on my blog between now and the end of the contest when they tell me that you sent them. So, tell all of your friends to check out The Literate Housewife Review and to drop your name while they’re at it!
3) For three additional entries, follow me on Twitter and tweet about this contest (if you already follow me on Twitter, you’re half-way there). Please be sure to include the link to this contest and reply to me (#lithousewife) so that I can count your extra entries.
4) For three additional entries, mention my contest on your blog and include a link back. Please either comment here or send me an email with a link to your post so I can count your extra entries.
So, how long is this contest running?
The Literate Housewife Review’s Tattoo You contest opens as soon as this post is published and will continue through Friday, September 4th at 11:59PM. I will be announcing the Grand Prize winner and the other nine winners – as determined by List Randomizer – on Monday, September 7th during my lunch break (somewhere between noon and 1:30pm EST). I’ve been bad lately at picking my winners lately. Rest assured that this contest will be different! I’ve added the drawing on my Outlook calendar!
One last thing…
I’ve got a special number in my head. If I get enough unique entries to match that number (and I’m not saying what it is), there will be two Grand Prize winners! The bonus Grand Prize winner can choose either a copy of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo or The Girl Who Played with Fire in either print or e-book format. Good luck!

I have more than one tattoo. I just got a new one this week. It’s an open book, and it’s on my left shoulder.
I tweeted: http://twitter.com/librarybug
Looks like I may be your first entrant with tattoos! I have two: A Phantom of the Opera full mask and rose on my shoulder and a Phoenix rising from the flames on my thigh.
I have not read Dragon Tattoo yet, but it is one of the books I am hoping to get to real soon since I bought it when it first came out and I have not read it yet! UGH.
I follow this blog and you on twitter. I’ve already tweeted the giveaway, and I’ll pop it in my sidebar.
Not only do I have a tattoo, I have multiple ones at that. My newest work, which took 17.5 hours in the chair, over 1.5 years, was a full work on my entire back. It’s two large celtic cats crawling up my back. It’s intermingled with shades of green, to bring out the extensive celtic work.
As for your book, I’d LOVE to read it, it’s on my list to read anyways
Best,
Dawn
?Do you have a tatto? No tattoo and no plans to ever get one (except temporary ones
)
?Have you read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo? No, I haven’t read it yet but it is on my To-Be-Read list.
Nice blog and cool contest.
No tattoo. Though I do think that they are very hot on guys, but I’m too commitment-phobic to do it. I rearrange my furniture like once a month, how am I suppose to get a tattoo?
No, I haven’t read The Girl Who Played With Fire. But it is on my to-read list.
No tattoos here! But yes, I’ve read Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and am anxiously waiting to read The Girl Who Played with Fire.
Thanks!
I have two tattoos; the Chinese symbol for strength on my right hipbone and a small lily on my back.
I’ve never read Tattoo but it’s been in my pool on bookswim.com for quite awhile!
I have one tattoo on my ankle (a four leaf clover) and I haven’t read Girl with the Dragon Tattoo ye bt it’s been on my TBR list for awhile!
I own, but have not read, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. It isn’t that I’m not super excited about it, I just have SO many TBR books that I’m super excited about! Winning the sequel might be a good excuse to get to it, though…
I don’t have a tattoo, although my mom tried to talk my sister and I into getting one with her on her 40th birthday. I just couldn’t think of anything that I wanted permanently on my body. I mean, who’s ever heard of a book tattoo?
I have not read either book although I want to after all the rave reviews.
And not only do I not have any tattoos, but I grimace when I see them, thinking of how they must have hurt!!! I’m glad when I was at the age of rebellion, tattoos and piercings weren’t “in” yet! :–)
I really want to read both books by this author.
So to anser your questions:
NO to the book; and NO to a tattoo.

1. Nope, no tattoo. I like the artwork, and I intellectually get the idea of body art…but they gross me out, sorta. I think I keep picturing tattoos on the old-lady parts I’ll have some day. Ahem.
2. Yes, I read the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo… and I LOVED it. It kept me engrossed during a long day when we were at the airport all day from 11am to 11pm while our flight was delayed. That was some good book — I didn’t even mind just SITTING there.
no I do not have a tatoo
Hello I have not read his other books
I haven’t read the book yet and I don’t have any tatoos – my husband has enough for both of us and a few of you too.
I don’t have a tattoo…my mom, uncle and bro each have one, so I seem to be the family holdout.
I haven’t read Tattoo, but it’s on the bookshelf! I’m looking forward to it.
I have not read “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” yet.
And it funny that you are giving away a temporary tattoo, because that’s all I wear! I always wanted a tattoo but never got one.
I have this “thing” for Hello Kitty, and I get these temporary tattoos of Hello Kitty and put a different one everyday! My 20 year old daughter is embarrassed by it, but my husband loves them and thinks its cute.
Please enter me in your contest – would love to win the book or the tattoo!
No, I do not have a tattoo. If I were younger and single I think I would get one though. I have not read the book.
I don’t have a tattoo, but I have read both books by Larsson and loved them.
Yep, I’ve got a tattoo on my back (right shoulder). I got it when I was only 18 and wished I had waited until I was a bit older, that way I could have picked something a bit more meaningful than a flower!!
No tattoo for me- I’m too indecisive. I’m currently reading The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and am loving it so far! I would love to win!!
1) yes, i have one tattoo as of now. it’s on my right shoulder, and is a women’s sign wrapped in daisies. the women’s sign is a nod to my feminist identity and the daisies are in honor of my parents (both deceased). daisies were their wedding flower.
2) i am sorry to say that i haven’t read the first book yet…but i was intrigued after reading lots of great reviews. also, the story of Larsson’s life and untimely death has peaked my interest as well.
i’m crossing my fingers that we reach your magic number because i’d *love* to read either of the Larsson books.
thanks for the great giveway…
I don’t have a tattoo, but I have read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and loved it. It was one of my favourite books last year.
- I’ve also left a link of your giveaway on my sidebar.

I am currently reading the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and am hooked.
I have one tattoo o n the inside of my left ankle. It’s an outline of MN. Yes, the state. It’s kind of a personal thing, but basically that is where I discovered who Natalie is.
I have 2 tattoos and have the book on its way from my Mom, who is sure I will enjoy it. I would love to get one of the tattoos and have my Mom wear it the next time we go down to see my sister!
You can see my tattoos and read about my experiences getting them at http://nogoodcancomefromthis.blogspot.com/
Keep up the good work,
Paul
No tattoos. No plans to get tattoos, unless I win this contest, of course.
As for the first book, I just picked it from the library this week and am looking forward to reading it after seeing a review of the second one around the book blogosphere.
Oh, and I tweeted about your contest too.
I am so glad I didn’t get a tattoo when I was younger cause that rose I wanted on my hip would probably be down by knee by now! I have wanted to read this one forever.
I don’t have a tattoo. I haven’t yet read The Girl with the Dragon tattoo but will be soon. I’ve heard so much about these books that I am sure I would want to read this one afterwards. Thanks for the contest.

No I haven’t read Girl With the Dragon Tatoo yet, but it’s sitting on my bookshelf just waiting for me to pick it up! I have 3 tattoos…a lily with vines on my lower back, a couple of stars on my upper left thigh, and a small butterfly on my foot. I’m thinking about covering up the butterfly on my foot with something else, but I can’t figure out what I want there instead!
I have read Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. I really enjoyed it, and would like to read the next in the series. No tattoos!

I have read the Gril with the Dragon Tattoo and Girl who played with fire and have the thrid book ordered. I also saw the first film ….waiting to see the rest. I do not currently have a tattoo but may get one in the future. A Norse Urnes Dragon actually.
I am kind of skeptical of an American remake of the films since so far the originals have been very good!
I apoligise for my spelling errors in my last post. Need some coffee this morning;-)
