Welcome to the Dog Days of Summer!
The week I’ve been waiting for has finally arrived! I hope that this proves to be as fun as I’m anticipating. I bought the last little item I need for my Dog Days of Summer bookmarks, so they will be ready to be packaged up and mailed to the lucky winners! I’ll post a picture as soon as I’m finished.
I’ve never done anything like this before, so I’m tickled that so many other bloggers have signed up to participate. I have a feeling I’ll be doing this again next year. What makes me think that? Well, I got a newsletter from Hatchette earlier this week and I saw a book with a dog on the cover and thought: “I need to keep that in mind for next year.”
Here’s a tentative schedule of what you can expect to find on The Literate Housewife Review this week:
Monday: I will be posting the pictures I received from readers and other bloggers. Can I just say that they are adorable? There will be a new navigation item at the top of my blog called “Dog Days.” I’ll post the pictures there and post the poll for voting within my main blog. Voting will be open until Friday, August 28th at noon EST. I’ll post the winners on Saturday.
Tuesday: I will be posting my review of Dogs of Babel by Carolyn Parkhurst.
Wednesday: I will be posting my review of Secrets of Happiness by Sarah Dunn.
Thursday and Friday: I will be posting my review of The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein and – if I’m lucky (didn’t give a lot of notice when I asked) – a special guest post for Thursday and Friday. I’ve got my fingers crossed that it will work out. If I do have a guest post, I’m not sure which day I’ll post which item. If not, I will have a little doggie delight of some kind to post on the day I’m not reviewing The Art of Racing in the Rain.
All Week Long: Throughout the week I’ll be highlighting the reviews of each of the bloggers who signed up to participate.

. “Travels with Charley” is a bit more dense in content than I expected. -

You are right, though…this may require a special stack somewhere on the floor. I noticed that “The Art of Racing in the Rain” is being featured at the kids’ book fair in the adult section. I won’t be able to resist!

Ok, so I am still reading Art of Racing in the Rain, but its fast paced, so I should have a review later in the week.
