It is hard to believe, but BBAW is coming to a close. I want to give a special thanks to all those who made this week possible. (Amy, you are still my Queen!) I’ve met some great new bloggers and felt so much love throughout the week. I am really looking forward to the year ahead.
I have a lot of BBAW posts to catch up on and plan on doing that over the weekend. Things in my personal life got very hectic this week and kept me from commenting and reading as much as I wanted. The girls came down with strep throat, work was quite stressful, and some extended family had to undergo unexpected surgery (thank you so much for your prayers).
Have there been a huge number of excellent contests this week or what? I’m really excited to announce the winners of my BBAW Serial Giveaway! There is still a few hours left to enter, so act quickly. :)
Without further ado, here is what the BBAW asked book bloggers to discuss on the last day:
Hopefully this week you’ve been visiting a bunch of new book blogs and maybe noticing some things about them you’d like to try yourself. Or maybe you’ve just had some ideas for improvements to your blog you’d like to put into place or new ideas for content. But there’s also probably something you really love about your blog, too, something you’re really proud of. It’s time to show off! Tell us and this is really important, in 50 words or less what you love best about your blog! And then in 50 words or less where you want your blog to be by the next BBAW! Ready? GO!
50 words each, eh? Here goes….
The Good
What I love about my blog is that it embodies the room above the garage I’ve always dreamed of having since childhood. It is a place I can be and express myself among book loving friends. Here, I am creative, engaged, challenged, and content. With my blog, I feel whole.
Ooh! 50 words on the dot!
The Goal
In the upcoming year, I want to work on balancing my reading. I enjoy reading ARCs and new releases. Still, my own books are lingering on my shelves. I want to work toward a one to one relationship between review books and my own, including using the library more often.
Ooh! 50 words again! Am I on a roll or what?
Until Next Time
This brings BBAW to a close here at The Literate Housewife Review. Thanks again to everyone for their kind words, visits, and support. I look forward to doing the same for you in the upcoming year. This world wouldn’t be the same without you.

I love what you said here about the room above the garage. That is totally the feel that I get when I visit too. It’s a warm, inviting spot and I enjoying spending time here.
As for the week closing, it has been a busy, busy week across the blogosphere. I’ve ‘met’ about a dozen new folks that I think I am going to end up conversing with for the long haul. New friends. Lots of great book talk. Love it.
Once again, thank you for the lovely Literate Housewife Approved button. I will cherish it.
We love you, Jennifer! Good luck with your goals!
Ditto on the good! Only a fellow book lover understands, other just look at me like I’m nuts.
I hope your girls are feeling better and that you have a relaxing weekend.
Phenomenal way to end the week, for me. Your blog IS like the hideaway above the garage, where we can all hang out and tell it like it is. I have the same issue with ARCs. I love to get them (like mini Christmas gifts all year long) but have wonderful books on my shelves that I desperately want to read. I’ve sworn off ARCs for the rest of the year, and will put my heart and soul into my shelves. Is it me or does this all seem like New Year’s Eve?
I like your comment about your blog being like the room above the garage. Totally understand!
And I’ve seen your goal reflected on a few different blogs, and will have to make that my goal as well. It’s so easy to get caught up in review copies and ARCs that I tend to forget about the books I actually own, that are waiting patiently to be read. *L*
Great goals! And great job on keeping it within the 50 word limit! (I went a little over…)

My books sit on my shelves too — and it’s all the fault of the wonderful library! Not that I’m complaining I have that!
Amazing how many bloggers have mentioned the word “balance” in their final BBAW post!
My problem is the same as yours–I keep forgetting about the books I already own! I need to make time for them as well.
The statement about the room above your garage is great!
What a great goal…after this week, I’m afraid the books on my shelf are going to be even more neglected!
You’re so sweet! i’m glad you had a good week and I hope you meet your goals! Love your blog!
You goal for the future is one I hope to embrace as well. I have a busy September and October with review copies but the winter will ease up and allow me to read more from other piles.
Good luck for a good year coming up!
BBAW was fun! And this is one post i have so not done!
Love your blog.. and good luck with your goals
