Have you put the to Pride and Prejudice you have read in a Chronological order like you have done with the Philippa Gregory books and King Henry's wives.
I would love to know.
Just got Death at Pemberley and am thinking of getting a few others and would like to sort of read them in a sequence.

I'm glad you liked this one, too. It's actually the best Austen sequel I've read so far, and I've read a few good ones.

Mary Bennett was always the character I felt was the most unjustly treated in P&P. I think it's a great idea to take her character and make a P&P sequel for her.

I haven't "read" Pride and Prejudice but I have seenit and I liked the movie a lot.
Though I have never read this genre, I think I would someday give it a try!

Great review!

I have read Pride and Prejudice, and my sister laughed at me when I told her that because she said that it was a girly novel.

The truth of the matter was though that I had to read it in my grade 12 english class, because the teacher (who was a published fiction author, like I've now become myself) had a sense of humour and he told the class that we had four choices to pick from:

i) Pride and Prejudice
ii) Wuthering Heights
iii) Jane Eyre
iv) Sense and Sensibility

After he gave us our choices he laughed at us... he told us that these books were so packed with action...he was an interesting teacher...

There are religious sisters and monks who come up with very creative stuff at times, and the same might be true here.

God Bless,

Great review - and great twist on an Austen sequel to be written by a nun. I'll have to add this to my list!

Yet another genre of book I avoid! I tried one Austen sequel after my mother raved about it, but it just didn't work for me. I need to be open minded and try another, I guess.

I liked that the pace of this novel fell in line with that of Pride & Prejudice. I really was eager to see Mary blossom and grow into her own woman.

You know, I have never picked up a P&P sequel of any sort, scared it would just infuriate me at its sacriledge! Sounds like you were the same, which makes it mean something when you say that you liked this book. Mary was always the wall flower, the one in the corner. Nice that she is getting some attention!
