I haven’t been a very prolific blogger over the past couple of weeks. Prior to last week, I’d blame it on February Winter Doldrums or FWD. Since last week, however, I think I have come up with the most brilliant excuses yet:
Brilliant Excuse #1 ~ Beautiful Weather
Spring was in the air all last week and I had fun taking pictures of the sky with the camera on my Droid. Didn’t they turn out gorgeous? Anyway, I ached to be outside all day. Then, after the girls were in bed, I was simply exhausted from all that aching. You’re buying this, of course. If not, surely Brilliant Excuse #2 will seal the deal:

Brilliant Excuse #2 ~ My Afghan
After Christmas I began an afghan and worked on it off and on. When the weather got nice, it lit a fire underneath me to finish it while there will be cold weather ahead so I can enjoy it. So, I dropped everything to finish it. Last night, I finished the edging, so I’ts complete. Oh, and it’s so warm and soft. Love it!

So you see, other things have been really, really important. Anyone can understand why my blogging and review writing suffered, right?

I have no such excuse. I live in a city that smells like a portable bathroom. And it’s cold. We walked by the lake the other day and my ears almost froze off and the Hudson smelled like 8 things rotting together.
That afghan looks AWESOME! My grandmother makes them and I know they take some real work! What a nice pattern!
Give me a few minutes and I’ll come up with brilliant excuses for you. They are there! Thanks for the compliment on the afghan. It was work, for sure, but it’s a fun pattern.

Those are all very brilliant, valid excuses! The afghan is gorgeous. I’m knitting like crazy to finish my mother’s birthday present (a scarf) in time for the 27th. My evening reading/blogging time is going toward that project. I should be able to *just* make it!
Thank you for validating my excuses. That makes them a higher breed of excuse. LOL! Good luck on the birthday present! I know you can make it!
I blame the Feb doldrums for my lack of reading and blogging also. I love your afghan. I wish I could knit.
I love that afghan! I could totally picture you curling up with a book with that across your lap
Ti, I’m snuggled up in it right now. So comfortable!
Hillary, it’s crocheted, not knitted. I don’t have the patience for knitting. I think crocheting is actually pretty easy. If you lived nearby, I’d be happy to teach you!
Wow! Great job!!
Of course, I’m buying all of your excuses – there are only so many hours in a day!
That afghan looks like the coziest thing ever! It really makes me want to take up knitting!!!
Those are both great excuses for being away from the computer!!
Beautiful pictures, and I have to say, I love your afghan! So colorful!
I was starting to get sick of the weather, too, but we did have a nice day yesterday.
Brilliant excuses and a Beautiful afghan!!!
Excellent excuses, all!
Congrats on finishing the afghan! It looks great!
