Audiobook Week Hangover

Happy 4th of July to everyone who celebrates the day. Have fun and stay safe.

Today marks the middle in a three day string of family birthdays. Yesterday, my niece Mallory celebrated her 7th birthday. Today, my niece Lawson celebrates her 3rd birthday and tomorrow is my nephew Caden’s 6th birthday. Happy birthday to them all.

I’ve been suffering from what I’ll call Audiobook Week Hangover. As you’ve seen, it’s been very quite here since Saturday. I had such a good time celebrating that week. Thanks again, to Jen from Devourer of Books for organizing the event! Still, I was exhausted from all the blogging and blog hopping Friday. So much audiobook love can be a touch overwhelming – and totally worth it!

I was “pressured” to give Ready Player One a listen during the week’s festivities because it seemed that everyone except me was raving about it. This book, about a futuristic America where the death of a great video game developer who grew up in the 80s sets off a virtual quest for his inheritance, was way outside of my reading comfort zone. Quite appropriate since that was my personal theme for June is Audiobook Month. What a way to end the month! I thought it was incredible. Maybe I’m more of a geek than I thought I was. LOL!

I’m hoping to take it easy today and be back in better blogging form starting tomorrow with my TLC Book Tour stop for Rachel Joyce and her sweet novel, The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold  Fry.

Have a great day no matter what you’re up to!

I’m glad to hear I’m not alone. I figure no one would cry given how much I posted last week. LOL!

It is sort of like a hangover.
It was raining audio and then slowed down.
        Enjoy the 4th :)
I’ve got to listen to Ready Player One too.

You really must give READY PLAYER ONE a listen. I’m so glad I gave into the peer pressure

I found people got quiet after BEA/Armchair BEA, too.

I think it’s important to recharge the batteries every now and then. It took me almost three weeks to even write about BEA. I can’t imagine how long I would have been down if I participated in Armchair BEA as well. It seemed to be a great event this year.

I hope you are having a nice holiday!! I’ve been lazy, playing online, writing a book review, and enjoying the peace. We’ve got yummy Americana food for dinner, corn on the cob, pulled pork etc. Looking forward to more reviews from you soon!!

Very cool that you enjoyed Ready Player One so much! I loved it, but didn’t listen to the audio. I have seen everyone rave about it though, so maybe I’ll do that for a reread someday. Hope you had a great 4th!
