It’s R.I.P. for Me!

This fall I’m getting into the spirit of all that is creepy. I’m officially joining a yearly feature now in its 7th year running:

R.eaders I.mbibing P.eril (R.I.P.) hosted by Carl from Stainless Steel Droppings

R.I.P. begins tomorrow and runs through the end of October. I’m going to select the Peril the First challenge, meaning I will read at least four creepy, gothicy, murdery books over the next two months. Here are the books I’ve got waiting in the wings, ready to freak me out:

Potential R.I.P. reads in print:

Potential R.I.P. reads in audio:

And if you’re in the mood for some less than safe reading, you can give R.I.P. a try, too. Tell Carl I sent you.

Wish me luck!

This will be fun. The great thing about these genres is that there really is something there for everyone. I’m listening to Breed right now and will be quite interested in your take. Just, keep the lights on.

The Historian has been on my list every year and I really need to get to it. It is shameful that I haven’t done so yet given my adoration for Dracula. I did manage to pull my copy up from the basement a few days ago, we’ll see if that makes any difference. :)

Wonderful to have you in with us. Your potential book and audio selections look deliciously creepy. I love the cover for The Yard. That one intrigues me a lot.

I am a big fan of The Historian and it is one of my favorite books. I’ve read it twice, when it first came out and then a couple of years ago for a readalong I hosted. I’ve also been listening to the audiobook off and on since last year, which is wonderful. I highly recommend you pick that one up first for R.I.P., if you couldn’t already tell that I love pushing that book!
