Busy April

April has been a busy month for this blogger. I haven’t been able to post as much as I’d have liked to as a result. A couple of weeks ago we cleaned out closets and bedrooms before heading to Richmond for a few days to celebrate Spring Break. We had a great time shopping at Short Pump Mall, spent two evenings at Sky Zone, and finished off the weekend at the Metro Richmond Zoo.

Since returning from Spring Break, we’ve been gearing up for Emma’s big day. She was named Miss Emeraldette this year. It’s an honor she earned in her baton troup. This weekend she’ll be riding in the Vinton Dogwood Festival Parade. We’ve been busy getting ready. Here’s a preview of her in her dress. Seeing her in it took my breath away. My baby is growing up!

There won’t be any reading time let alone blogging time until after the festivities. I hope you’ve all been enjoying your spring. Let me know what you’re reading. I’ll be looking for a good recommendation once the pollen settles.

I saw your post on FB about needing a convertible. I hope someone steps up to the plate. Guys typically like to show off their cars so I bet someone does.

What am I reading? I just finished Nesbo’s new book Blood on Snow. Will not be recommending it. Also finished Blue Sun, Yellow Sky by Jamie Hoang. She self published it but it’s quite good. Review posts tomorrow. It’s about a young artist who is told that she is going blind. Reading The Children’s Crusade but it’s a little slow at the moment. Looking for a quick page turner to read in between.

She’s beautiful! How exciting! I know you are going to find a convertible. There is always someone willing to show off their prized car in a parade. Be sure to take plenty of pictures and share them with us!
