From the Heart ~ Wayne Farrell, Joe Hempel, and Sara Morsey

from-the-heart-logoDecember… the time to give thanks for those things that have sustained us through the past year. For narrators, a huge part of that is YOU, the listening community! As we wind down 2016, we want to give back to you, our listeners, who help make our job so rewarding, and who travel with us on each audiobook journey. SO! Over 60 narrators have partnered to bring you FROM THE HEART – recordings of poetry, essays, stories, excerpts, songs, etc. – throughout the month of December. Each day, beginning this Thursday, 12/1, look for 2-3 new (and free!) audio postings. You’ll hear things from voices you’re familiar with as well as some that are new to your ears, all of whom are so very grateful for your listening love this last year! Hope you’ll join in the fun!

Today I’m pleased to host works by three audiobook narrators (click on the narrator’s name to jump to his/her performance): Wayne Farrell, Joe Hempel, and Sara Morsey. Enjoy!

“The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle” by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle narrated by Wayne Farrell

About the Selection

As the eminent detective Sherlock Holmes and his partner Dr. John Watson prepare for Christmas, newspapers report the theft of the near priceless jewel, The “Blue Carbuncle”, from the hotel suite of the Countess of Morcar. John Horner, a plumber and a previously convicted felon, is soon arrested for the theft. Though the police have yet to find the jewel, and despite Horner’s claims of innocence, the police are sure that they have the thief. Horner’s record, and his presence in the Countess’s room where he was repairing a fireplace, are all the police need.

“The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle”, one of the 56 short Sherlock Holmes stories written by British author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, is the seventh story of twelve in The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. The story was first published in Strand Magazine in January 1892.
